Paste paper technique is traditionally used to make end papers, covers or painted pages
for handmade books. A blend of acrylic paint and medium with cooked wheat or methyl cellulose paste is applied to wet paper and manipulated as in finger painting. The
process encourages spontaneity and quick decisions while the paste is wet, and
materials can be collaged onto the wet surface. I incorporate calligraphic
markings and scraps of calligraphy in these pieces.
